oh, record keeper of the Ages!

tell me a tale of time forgotten-

of monsters and men,

who roamed the Earth-

stories kept secret,

hidden.

reveal to me the glory of centuries past!

so that I may know what is to come-

show me the mistakes and follies

of the mortal men,

the triumphs and glories

to hold within.

remind me of what foolish men have forgotten!

show the histories that have been begotten-

draw the lines clear and firm-

forget no one who is forgotten,

speak of those valiant and bold

tell of those both young and

old.

allow them to speak to me through the ages-

to share their stories

and their knowledge,

of things fought and things lost-

a heritage of people who have witnessed all

to keep that beacon

of truth

forever burning.

oh record keeper of the Ages,

if i honor what is true-

do not forget me

when my time is through.

though i have not contributed yet

i hope my offering

to you

will not go unsaid-

the lantern of truth we all hope to light

provide to us the right match to strike.
