sorrow
the dark rose,
crowned in dew,
frozen and unrevealing.
a necklace of diamonds,
sparkling of falsehood,
given by the unfeeling
lover.
a muddy shoe,
a ripped dress,
a fallen bouquet.
each a sign of some pain
untold,
hidden in the depths of longing.
a song carried on the
cold winter wind,
speaking of a loss,
known loved ones,
an unknown being,
leaving a gap of life.
sorrow is a lonely thing,
where one is left to
ponder,
amidst the darkness of
the night,
a path on which to
travel.
ice and snow,
numbing,
dazzling,
contrast to a dark
shadow,
mysterious,
sinister,
but without which,
one could not know the
light.
hands shaking,
heart racing,
tears running,
voice choking,
skin shivering,
feelings over flowing,
flowing,
flowing,
gushing forth to greet
the light.
a single light burning,
the starting point of
healing,
in the darkness shining,
music gently wafting,
evoking the sorrow
hidden,
within.
a life worth living,
chances worth taking,
paths slowly shaping,
warmth silently
spreading,
but sorrow still
glistening.
a frozen whisper,
hanging in the air,
forgotten words of
wisdom,
yet to be shared.
around us,
false words to sort
through,
danger,
fear,
to face.
the times to blindly
flow,
have lead to disgrace.
undaunted by the human
race,
the contents of Pandora’s
box,
do willingly bite,
leaving behind the
miseries of the world,
sorrow and strife.
when dawn breaks,
and the sky is a canvas
of pastels,
know that I remember you,
and your love in my
heart,
dwells.
